Sketchabilities # 117

I seized this opportunity to use a bunch of products from my stash to create a layout based on the Sketchabilities #117 sketch

http://www.sketchabilities.blogspot.com/

And here is the page I created:

I rarely scrap 1 photo on a page these days, as I am so far behind in my son's photos, but this sketch really caught my eye!

Oscar: A Layout for Sketches in Thyme

Here is the original sketch #104:

My goal for 2013 is to use the supplies and collections I already have, and only purchase adhesives and photo prints!  So, everything in my layout is from my stash!  I had big fun with this sketch, and chose to take 1 great photo of Oscar the mule and crop it into 6 equal parts!  I used fibers, twines, ribbon ends, and some old paper scraps!  It feels good to use what I have and to be a good steward of my blessings!

Sketches in Thyme: Sketch # 97

I'm a guest designer at Sketches in Thyme for Sketch #97!

To create this 2-page layout, I used these products & tools:

Kraft cardstock from Close To My Heart
My Mind's Eye Follolw Your Heart Be Amazing paper & decorative paper clip
Tim Holtz Memo Pins and metal gears
CTMH twill ribbon
Pink Paislee 365 degrees Flip Notes
XXL Glue Dots
Hemp cording used in jewelry making
My Mind's Eye Lost and Found 2 Sunshine Burlap Trim
Basic Grey Brads
CTMH Paper Shapes flutter Butterflies

Here is the left side of the double-page layout!

This is the right hand page of the double layout!

Below is a detail of the twill ribbon flower I made by twisting and pressing the ribbon onto the super-tacky XXL Glue Dot!  I left a little length and tied on a gear for some masculine charm!

I would love for you to become a follower of my little blog & hop over and participate at Sketches in Thyme!

Merry Christmas!

Animal Encounters: A Layout for Scrapping Everyday Miracles

I created this layout of 3 animals based on the beautiful Pagemaps sjetch provided by Scrapping Everyday Miracles!  I used lots of green to complement the iguana and the foliage, and orange to accent the land crab!  I always love a sketch with several photos - you know me - I take too many! Below is the link to the challenge!

For this layout I used Bazzill and CTMH cardstocks, Simple Stories Year O Graphy collection, October Afternoon font stickers and American Craft thickers.  I also recyled the natural ribbon twill strip from some bedding I purchased!  It came wrapped around the quilt with a tag attached, and it was silly to throw it away!  The green burlap netting was purchased at a convention, and I do not know the manufacturer!  Brads are from CTMH!

Let's Get Sketchy: October Sketches 1 & 2

I really had fun using lots of my scraps for the long banners!

Let's Get Sketchy October Sketch Week 2
And for this one, I was able to use lots of scraps, too!  And I always enjoy using a unique piece of fiber, like the woven burlap strip!

Good Times

Welcome to my layout for the Fabulous Friday Challenge at Frosted Designs, featuring "Embossing." I chose to incorporate dry embossing on the red cardstock die cut shape behind the "E," as well as wet, heat embossing on the title and horseshoe accents! I really do like both types of embossing for different reasons: dry embossing is more subtle, and heat embossing adds pop!
So, I encourage you to get out those embossing plates and stylus, heat guns and fine powders, and get creative! (And messy, if you are like me! :)
Please join us each and every Fabulous Friday at Frosted Designs!

Riding Horses

I wanted to share this layout with you, as I am really pleased with how it turned out! I used some brand-spanking new products, as well as some older ones that I was thrilled to incorporate! Again, this layout features my youngest son, and showcases his confident personality! This "horse" is life-sized, and he was fearless as I hoisted him up into the aged leather saddle!
As for the newest of my supplies, I incorporated the natural and black burlap fibers, and the horseshoe die-cut that I puchased this summer at a Creating Keepsakes Convention. The oldest supplies include the natural string, and the year stickers in the lower left corner. The string is so old, I can't even remember where it came from, but it is certainly from my pre-scrapbooking days, which dates it pre-2001!
My partial list of supplies:
Sandylion and Karen Foster stickers, Basic Grey brads, CTMH Sarsparilla, DCWV patterned paper, Want 2 Scrap die-cut
