A Layout for Stuck! Sketches, January 15 Sketch

Don't Feed The Animals is the layout I created for the January 15th sketch from Stuck! Sketches.

Here is their original sketch:

http://stucksketches.blogspot.ca/2014/01/janaury-15th-sketch.html

Typically, I prefer to work with several photos on a layout, as I am 3 years behind in chronologically scrapping my son's life, but when I finished up the stack of photos from our zoo trip, this one was left!  I love my son's tiny finger pointing at the animals, and the profiles of the ones I love! But I was pleased to create this layout with paper and zoo theme embellishments that are SEVERAL years old!  I also pulled out my overabundance of buttons, and used several of those!

bunny love: A Layout for Stuck?! Sketches

bunny love

I created this layout exclusively for this challenge!
Here is the original sketch from Stuck?! Sketches:

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIZD8vP8CT9m5MgFE1fqnuVtFk7ewz-vxWATCqR6WAg1OAPqB1iq5PV5ZJ4R85edSBh3SxIRlTG-YJP8eXKLOdfIVVNsNUeH1AjqVVWY4f0PtL7YWaLofgGh2evBmv3QYavrRYE0-TiYFV/s400/12+dec+1.jpg

I had loads of fun with this sketch, and knew I had to use this quirky photo of my son gingerly holding a bunny at the Apple Festival!  I pulled out lots of OLD supplies from my stash, including the printed mini tags, and that blue vellum tag, which is likely 10 years old!  Whew!  I made my "picture frame," from the negative spaces of a square punch, and used several buttons from my excessive collection.  Enjoy!

Although this sketch features 1 photo, my file folders open to reveal 4 more photos!
This sketch challenged me to step out of my comfort zone by bringing out the spray ink and acrylic paint!  I really like how it turned out, and am looking for to the next sketch!

Giddy UP: A Layout for Let's Get Sketchy

Giddy Up!

I created this layout just for this sketch challenge!
Here is the original sketch from Let's Get Sketchy:

I am 3 years behind in chronologically scrapbooking my youngest son's life, and this layout is proof!  These photos were taken in the fall of 2010, and I am just now working with them!  I also take TOO MANY photos, and even though I only scrap the best ones, there are still so many! I had fun with this sketch, and was able to incorporate several scraps of my favorite papers, crepe paper handmade rosettes and everything was from my stash!  Enjoy!

Atypical

My two year old, just being himself on a typical Autumn day.  He touches, tastes, and smells everything!  I used Bazzill cardstock to matte the photos, some black buttons, and all other elements are from the Simple Stories 24/7 collection.  Enjoy!

picnic: A Layout for Let's Get Sketchy, May Week 2

Oh we have so much fun in the summertime! I love the color orange, and I often dress my youngest in orange, and buy scrapbooking collections with orange themes!

I created this layout based on the Let's Get Sketchy May Week 2 Sketch Challenge, and here is the original:

**My resolution for 2013 in the scrapbooking area of my life is to use the supplies (the stash) I have already, and to only purchase prints of photos and adhesives!**  This layout gave me lots of opportunities to look through my stash and use several pieces!  YAY!

I used Fancy Pants Trick or Treat, Oct 31, and It's The Little Things collections, Reminisce Safety First, Simple Stories Summer Fun, Scenic Route Grafton Beach, Graphic 45 Staples alpha stickers,Sandylion Essentials Stickers, Crate Paper Toy Box Phrases, Jillibean Soup, American Crafts ribbon, Flair buttons, and Remarks Accents, and Recollections flowers!  (I also used several buttons from my stash!) Yahoo!

Make Your Mark: A Layout for Sketches in Thyme #110

We start training in creativity and color theory early around here!  These pics show my youngest using his first set of markers.

Using Sketch #110 from Sketches in Thyme, this layout was easy-breezy!  Here is the original sketch I worked from:
I was pretty challenged by the amount of white space in this sketch, and I really held back with my patterned paper habit! I got to use some fun paper scraps from Echo Park Little Boy, Close To My Heart, Bazzill Basics cardstock, Basic Grey brads, and a Fiskars punch!
Happy Scrapping!

Sweet Day: A Layout for Creative Scrappers

Oh this was a sweet summer day in 2010, exploring our own back yard, and taking in all of God's beautiful creation.

In keeping with the very difficult pledge I made for 2013, I used paper, stickers, and journaling notes from the 2010 My Mind's Eye Quite Contrary, Mary Mary collection!  Check out Creative Scrappers for some great inspiration!

Here is the original sketch I worked from:
I took full advantage of the opportunity to use pinks and light greens in this layout, which is a real treat, as I have all boys I also love to use my scraps of designer paper, and this sketch allowed that, too!  AWESOME!

Nature Boy: A Layout for My Minds Eye and My Scraps and More

One beautiful day in May, 2010, I photographed my sweet nature boy enjoying God's creation!

At the time, he was turning 2.  Now, 3 years later, he still loves the outdoors.  For those of us who live where cold weather and lots of rain last 8 months of the year, a gorgeous May day like this was truly a gift!

I created this layout for the May Day challenge at My Mind's Eye, and the My Scraps and More Sketch #27.

And in keeping with my pledge for 2013 to use the supplies I alread have, I pulled out the My Mind's Eye Quite Contrary Mary Mary collection from 2010!

I placed the elements of my layout by following the sketch from My Scraps and More Sketches.  Here it is:

Enjoy!!

Sieze the Moment: A Layout for Creative Scrappers & Bird is The Word

Here is the original sketch from Creative Scrappers April Sketch Challenge:

I used the word "moment" in my title and will enter my layout in the Bird is The Word Challenge

I had a great time with this sketch and packing in as many embellishments and little details that I could!  I have may have gone over the edge of creativity into tacky!  You be the judge!

I used My Mind's Eye(paper, baker's twine), 7 Gypsies(paper), American Crafts(title), Martha Stewart(punch and glue pen), Marcy Uchida(punch),Fiskars(punch), Quick Quotes(ink pad), and October Afternoon(title stickers) products and supplies! (I have no idea all the companies that made the various buttons I used.)

yuck!: A Layout for My Mind's Eye Sketch Challenge for April

This is my layout for the April Sketch Challenge at My Mind's Eye!

Here is the original sketch I worked from:

I loved working with this sketch because I was able to use SO MANY patterned papers in 4 collections of My Mind's Eye products!  I was also able to use several scraps from other projects.  I used My Mind's Eye Follow Your Heart: Be Amazing and My Mind's Eye Follow Your Heart: Be Happy  And probably my all time favorite collection, Lime Twist, can be found in lots of places on my layout.

In addition, I was inspired by the whimsical thread that Ronda added to the top of her photo, and I decided to try my hand at gluing baker's twine to my project from the Lime Twist and Follow Your Heart collections.  I was so pleased with how it turned out!

I used a Martha Stewart liquid glue pen to draw my design, and just tapped the twine down!

The largest banner of tiny print white polka dots on orange is from the 6 x 6 pad of the On the Bright Side: One collection, as are the small banner strips of brown sketched hearts and tiny floral print.

I used a white gel journaling pen from Marvy Uchida to tie in the white in my patterned papers, and in the graph lines of my background pattern.

I love buttons, and I used 2 of the decorative buttons from the Follow Your Heart accessories, and various others from my large button stash.  And last, my title is from American Crafts thickers!

Enjoy!

Small Victory: A Layout for Sketch #23 My Scraps and More Sketches

And here is the original sketch from My Scraps and More Sketches #23

This sketch was a real challenge for me!  There were so many elements I wanted to use from the Simple Stories line, that it became not so simple!  LOL!
I also used lots of buttons from my stash, 2 types of ribbon from my stash, and red foil letters from Me and My Big Ideas that I have had for a while! The photos are actually inside pockets from the
SN@P product.

giggle & grin: A Layout for My Scraps and More Sketches #22

Oh how I love this layout!  I was able to step out of my comfort zone with this sketch from My Scraps and More Sketches #22 by using only 2 pieces of paper!  I typically use lots of patterned papers, lots of layers, and it was a challenge to limit myself to distressing the photo edges to add interest and depth!
Here is the original sketch:

6 photos!  I was able to use 6 photos!  Yahoo!  I also stuck to my goal of using my stash, including some Adorn It by Carolee!

New Pals

Oh how we love animals!  We saw this sweet horse tethered on the side of the road just grazing calmly, and we stopped to say hello while on vacation!
I based my layout on a super-creative sketch at Let's Get Sketchy Challenge # 29.
I am always happy to incorporate more than 1 photo, because I have so many to scrap!
Check out their challenge site!

I used products from Simple Stories, Collage Press, American Crafts, CTMH, and Recollections, and Bazzill!
