Onward: A Layout for My Scraps and More Sketches #28

I had such fun with this layout sketch, these papers, and these photos!  To me, this photo says, "FUN!"

I created this sketch for My Scraps and More Sketches #28 challenge, and here is the original sketch:

I gor to use some of my favorite papers from Echo Park, Little Boy Collection.  Some of these were scraps, and I am so happy to have used them!  I also used some fun glittery American Crafts thickers, Bazzill Basics textured cardstock, My Mind's Eye tiny orange dots paper, and punches from Martha Stewart and Fiskars!  I cut out the large circles with my Fiskars Circle cutter.  Enjoy!

Where The Sidewalk Ends: A Layout for Bo Bunny

Where The Sidewalk Ends, by Shel Silverstein

I created this layout for the the Bo Bunny May Layout Challenge:  Use a book title in your layout.

I used the beautiful Gabrielle collection from Bo Bunny, as well as Bo Bunny Trinkets!
Enjoy!

Sieze the Moment: A Layout for Creative Scrappers & Bird is The Word

Here is the original sketch from Creative Scrappers April Sketch Challenge:

I used the word "moment" in my title and will enter my layout in the Bird is The Word Challenge

I had a great time with this sketch and packing in as many embellishments and little details that I could!  I have may have gone over the edge of creativity into tacky!  You be the judge!

I used My Mind's Eye(paper, baker's twine), 7 Gypsies(paper), American Crafts(title), Martha Stewart(punch and glue pen), Marcy Uchida(punch),Fiskars(punch), Quick Quotes(ink pad), and October Afternoon(title stickers) products and supplies! (I have no idea all the companies that made the various buttons I used.)

Mama's Boy: A Layout for Bird is the Word "Sweet" Challenge

Here is my entry for the Bird Is The Word "Sweet" Challenge:

I just love these photos of me and my sweet Mama's Boy together on the steps to my craft studio.

I "popped up" scrap strips of paper from the collection, and trimmed individual font stickers in random lengths.
This paper collection by My Mind's Eye Sunny Day, is a sweet collection about summer fun, and frames the photos of me and sweet bug just perfectly!
Title is in Me and My Big Ideas foil font chipboard stickers
Tiny journaling is in October afternoon font stickers

Fly over to Bird is The Word and join a challenge!

Enjoy!

Winter: A Layout for Frosted Designs & Bird is The Word

I work with lots of sketches, one because I love them, and two because I have so many pics to scrap that I don't have time to spend coming up with the layout on my own!  I loved all of the elements of this sketch, and was able to incorporate lots of techniques.

I also entered this layout in the Bird is the Word challenge for October 22, 2012: Spring/Summer/Winter/Fall

Here is their site badge if you want to pop over:

I used "Winter" for my title, and found a great quote about snowflakes!
For this layout, I used these products and tools:

Marvy Uchida snowflake punches

Basic Grey tiny brads

embroidery floss

Ribbon and foam dots from Michaels Craft Store

 ***Merry Christmas 2012!***

Paper Punch Ornaments

I have a different sort of post today!  My 4 year old and I have been getting crafty the last week, due to the somewhat early arrival of winter, hurricane Sandy, and some congestion this morning that kept us at home on a Sunday.

I modeled these layered ornaments from some felt examples I saw on pinterest, and thought paper would be easier to work with and use a few of the sheets of paper I already had stashed!  My youngest son LOVED using  ther paper punches!

I was also able to pull out some spools of less-used ribbon from my stash and use those, too!

To create these lightweight ornaments, I used papers from DCVW, Bo Bunny, and Canvas Corp!  Punches included Martha Stewart, CTMH, Marvy Uchida, McGill, and Fiskars!  In between each layer of paper is a foam dot!

Merry Christmas!

the life: simple

I created this layout to feature one of the most important sons in my life, and the most important earthly man, my husband of 11+ years!  In these photos we are in Puerto Rico on vacation, just enjoying God's magnificent creation, and one of our favorites, the ocean!

Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him. - Psalm 127:3  is truly one of my favorite Bible verses, because I have all sons, and none of them are fruit of my womb, so they are much more of a gift to me.
I designed this layout with Scrapping Everyday Miracles challenge #20 Let's Hear It For The Boys in mind!  The challenge was to feature the men/boys in your life, and the scrap twist was to use photos of at least 2 shapes!  This is right up my alley, as I love to use my punches for circle photos!

For this layout, I used the Simple Stories Year-O-Graphy collection, Bazzill cardstock, Fiskars large circle punch, CTMH small circle punch, font stickers from October Afternoon and Adorn It, and Basic Grey brads.

I Love U

Can you tell by this layout and my recent posts, well, all of my posts, what I am passionate about? You guessed it - being a full-time, all the time, blessed stay at home mom! I take mothering very seriously, and believe it is so important, especially in the early years. Everyday, my son is learning about God, himself, the world, other people, and how he should behave in it! I am so thankful to be able to witness and take part in these everyday events! This layout was inspired by the Scrapping Everyday Miracles challenge to scrap what I am passionate about, and that is being a lifetime mother! In this layout, based on the sketch by Creative Scrappers, is my youngest of 3 boys!
Besides my relationship with God and my husband, this little pumpkin is the love of my life. He was born in my heart, and wanted and prayed for for many years.
We love to celebrate the 4 seasons, and Autumn is one of our favorites! Our family is in love with life!
To create this layout, I used lots of patterned paper in layers, from several companies! 5 layers, to be exact, for the CES Challenge! I added lots of hearts to coordinate with the theme of my laytout, for the Fairy Tale Challenge, the Fussy and Fancy Challenge, and the Totally Gorjuss challenge! I love to use hearts anyway, so this was right up my alley! Next, I was able to finally use one of my most "loved" Christmas presents, the Sew Easy tool, in a few places on the layout to add some texture with bright orange stitches, thanks to the inspiration of Craft Your Days Away challenge!
I am entering this layout in these super challenges: Creative Scrappers Sketch #194

I used these products in this layout: We R memory Keepers Autumn Splendor, CTMH, Pink Paislee, DCWV, EK Success, Sew Easy, Making Memories Scrapbook Stitches

Here is the card I created to celebrate the wonderful night of our Savior's birth:
I used Close To My Heart cardstock, patterned paper, chipboard, twine, stamps, and ink. I also used products and tools from Martha Stewart, Fiskars, Marvy Uchida, Stickles, and Recollections.
To cover the white chipboard letters on the cover of my card, I first inked them, and later
layered 1 coat of silver Stickles with a fine paint brush. After drying overnight, I then painted on a layer of gold Stickles to tie in my gold and silver color scheme and add some depth.
I punched holes in one point of each star chipboard, in each letter, and next threaded waxy flax twine between them. I finished attaching the twine with a threaded sterling bead and a small knot. When I attached the stars and letters to the card, I wanted it to appear that these shiny stars were suspending the word "Starry" by golden threads, as if this came right down from the stars, right down from the Heavens.....
Inside my card, I continue the sentiment, which I wrote: "Starry Night...glorious night..." with lots of room left to pen a personal message to the recipient! Above that on the insie cover, is a stamped image of the Christ child and a paint embellished bright star, symbolizing the one that lead the 3 Kings to the stable where the newborn King could be found.

I then added gold glitter ribbon to extend the rich, celebratory theme of royalty throughout the card. I punched 1 side of the sentiment for added stars and detail.

This is a detail photo of the stamped image of baby Jesus lying in the manger, as found in the Close To My Heart stamp set: "Let Us Adore Him"

Now, Hippity Hop on over to Created 2 b Unique with Haidee to see her fabulous creation today! Don't forget to comment on my project & become a follower! :) Remember to come back tomorrow for my 2nd project that celebrates Christmas, and the most wonderful birthday since time began!

Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge 9-16-11: Punches

Welcome to my entry for the Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge 9-16-11: Punches

As you may have noticed, I am very partial to creating layouts, and I am partial to my youngest son as my focus. So, I was thrilled when I got to create layouts using punches, because I had just begun to sort and crop all of the photos from our first trip to Tweetsie Railroad. And.....I recently purchased a Martha Stewart Border punch in choo choo train for a steal at a big box chain craft store! SO.....all this to say I was excited to get started on these layouts!

The photo above shows a secrtion of the choo choo border punch in a teal cardstock, inked with Distressing ink, and adhered to a black backgroud.
On the top layout, I cut a 12 in. strip of teal paper, and punched continuously, end to end. I left the remaining section of cardstock that resulted from the punched strip. I then applied this as a bottom border for my layout.
This project was created using the Sarsparilla Paper Pack , and coordinating Stickease stickers from Close To My Heart, our sponsor!
_____________
The layout below also incorporated the same punch, but I chose to punch the entire width of the top of my 12 x 12 in. cardstock base, and create only a decorative top edge, rather than a border strip or a decorative edge on all 4 sides of my background cardstock!

I hope you'll try out some of those punches you have already, or branch out and purchase a new one you have been wanting to try, but haven't! We love to see your creations ar Frosted Designs!
