bunny love: A Layout for Stuck?! Sketches

bunny love

I created this layout exclusively for this challenge!
Here is the original sketch from Stuck?! Sketches:

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIZD8vP8CT9m5MgFE1fqnuVtFk7ewz-vxWATCqR6WAg1OAPqB1iq5PV5ZJ4R85edSBh3SxIRlTG-YJP8eXKLOdfIVVNsNUeH1AjqVVWY4f0PtL7YWaLofgGh2evBmv3QYavrRYE0-TiYFV/s400/12+dec+1.jpg

I had loads of fun with this sketch, and knew I had to use this quirky photo of my son gingerly holding a bunny at the Apple Festival!  I pulled out lots of OLD supplies from my stash, including the printed mini tags, and that blue vellum tag, which is likely 10 years old!  Whew!  I made my "picture frame," from the negative spaces of a square punch, and used several buttons from my excessive collection.  Enjoy!

Giddy UP: A Layout for Let's Get Sketchy

Giddy Up!

I created this layout just for this sketch challenge!
Here is the original sketch from Let's Get Sketchy:
https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZzAVv_jT2JOf4V6xW4GgNhR6cF67xG4-dtfaBp-taU2pHKWYeLpbKbbNhEvOtpMqwUj7jTCGN0yc6jsK8_dcD-cF6dvjulj2brKz-wV8VtP6JJI5kAUuz_dxEIK6Nb20iPI9KU3stDjI9/s400/Dec+Wk1.jpg

I am 3 years behind in chronologically scrapbooking my youngest son's life, and this layout is proof!  These photos were taken in the fall of 2010, and I am just now working with them!  I also take TOO MANY photos, and even though I only scrap the best ones, there are still so many! I had fun with this sketch, and was able to incorporate several scraps of my favorite papers, crepe paper handmade rosettes and everything was from my stash!  Enjoy!

Scrapping Everyday Miracles August Main Challenge

Scrapping Everyday Miracles August Main Challenge...."I Can Do All Things Through Christ".
For I can do all things through Christ, who gives me strength. Phillipians 4:13

By Cara:
God created us to do great things and gives us the strength, courage and perseverance to do them!  He also delights in us and with us when we do---isn't that cool? So this month I want to you to create a project about an accomplishment...it can be your own or a loved ones.

The LORD your God is with you,
He is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
He will quiet you with his love,
He will rejoice over you with singing.
Zephaniah 3:17

I chose to create a layout about my daughter Ellie's Kindergarten graduation (back in spring 2012). She is in the Dual-Language program and many times felt overwhelmed not understanding very much of the Spanish language, but she has stuck with it despite her fears, and is on her way to becoming a fluent Spanish speaker (she will be going into the 2nd grade in the program this Fall). I know God is so very proud of her...just like I am!

So, you can choose anything that you consider an accomplishment---completing a degree, finishing a race, beating an illness, weight loss, etc. Can't wait to see what God is doing in your lives.

Oh, and don't forget the Scrap Twist...use metal or something metallic on your project!

Here is my layout for the August Main Challenge and my twist metal elements are the brads, and the metal pin holding the flowers and star above the tag!

Head on over to Scrapping Everyday Miracles and enter those layouts!

giggle & grin: A Layout for My Scraps and More Sketches #22

Oh how I love this layout!  I was able to step out of my comfort zone with this sketch from My Scraps and More Sketches #22 by using only 2 pieces of paper!  I typically use lots of patterned papers, lots of layers, and it was a challenge to limit myself to distressing the photo edges to add interest and depth!
Here is the original sketch:

6 photos!  I was able to use 6 photos!  Yahoo!  I also stuck to my goal of using my stash, including some Adorn It by Carolee!

I had a blast with this sketch - so many elements and so many photos!  I really need to use sketches like this with 4 photos because I take so many shots of my family, that even when I scrap a few of each event, I still have too many!  LOL!

Sketches in Thyme: Sketch # 96

I am so excited to be a Guest Designer this week with Sketches in Thyme for Sketch #96!

As much as I love to use as many photos as I can on a layout - because I have so many to scrap - I am equally thrilled to focus a layout around 1 favorite photo!

All of these papers are from the My Mind's Eye Follow Your Heart Collection!
I created the 2 very different "rosettes" with an XXL Glue Dot for each, and torn strips of crepe paper twisted and stuck down for the larger, and strands of baker's twine and burlap twine twisted and coiled around and stuck down!

I threw in a couple of random clock gears from Tim Holtz I picked up at a convention. I added in a cork tag I have had since 2007, and adhered patterned butterflies from Close To My Heart to it, along with a My Minds Eye bakers twine length or two!

Next, I added a ticket from Jenni Bowlin and inked it all over.  Another butterfly to tie my clusters together, and a twine rosette I made with an XXL Glue Dot!   I added some simple journaling, a title with puffy thickers, a few brads, and I was done!

Hop over to Sketches in Thyme and join in the fun!

Bo Bunny "On the Go" Mini Album, Part 2

Front Cover
 Pages 2-3
I knew I would have more photos that I wanted to include in my album than would fit on the included pages, so I came up with a very simple fix!

Pages 4-5
Pages 6-7
This album documents a big day in the life of our youngest son, and our lives, too!  These are just a few of the pages in the mini album, and there will be more to come later!  The album and most of the supplies are part of the Bo Bunny "On The Go" collection.   I really adore this collection because it basically fits so much about my littlest boy's life, personality, likes and activities!

Pages 8-9
You may be able to tell that several of the pages in my album are just rectangular in shape, and that is because I cut additional pages from large black sheets of chipboard with my kraft knife, matched the holes and punched!

Pages10-11

Pages 12-13
I added journaling where I could find a tiny spot!

Back Cover

In addition to the collection, I have used some American Crafts thickers, some Jenny Bowlin journaling cards, Quick Quotes Powder Puff chalk inks, October Afternoon font stickers, Adorn It font stickers, a Marvy Uchida journaling marker, lots of Glue Dots, and lots of buttons.

I hope you enjoyed being "On the Go" with us!

the life: simple

I created this layout to feature one of the most important sons in my life, and the most important earthly man, my husband of 11+ years!  In these photos we are in Puerto Rico on vacation, just enjoying God's magnificent creation, and one of our favorites, the ocean!

Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him. - Psalm 127:3  is truly one of my favorite Bible verses, because I have all sons, and none of them are fruit of my womb, so they are much more of a gift to me.
I designed this layout with Scrapping Everyday Miracles challenge #20 Let's Hear It For The Boys in mind!  The challenge was to feature the men/boys in your life, and the scrap twist was to use photos of at least 2 shapes!  This is right up my alley, as I love to use my punches for circle photos!

For this layout, I used the Simple Stories Year-O-Graphy collection, Bazzill cardstock, Fiskars large circle punch, CTMH small circle punch, font stickers from October Afternoon and Adorn It, and Basic Grey brads.

What I Love At The Sea

I created this layout for these creative blog challenges:

I used LOTS of old plain flowers, and layered them, securing them with staples!  I was happy to use up some of these flowers from my stash!

**I used metal colored staples, and metal paperclips.**
I frequently forget about using my stapler, although I love the result every time I do!  I also have had these paperclips for years,. and am so excited about using them!!!

What a unique challenge!  I used a tiny square punch and lots of my favorite scraps of paper and created my mini patchwork!  I will certainly use this technique again!

I used these supplies, tools and products in my layout:

Simple Stories Year-O-Graphy paper collection
Fiskars tiny square punch
Prima flowers
Recollections flowers
Close To My Heart paperclips
Jenny Bowlin font stickers
American Crafts thickers
 Making Memories staples
Jenny Bowlin font stickers
Bazzill cardstock

This layout, and this photo, reflects one of my major personality traits - curiosity - especially about nature and even moreso about animals! One of my favorite activities when we go to any body of water is to search for animal life! And this layout reflects some of my favorite elements to use when I scrap - FLOWERS, pink, polka dots, layers and distressing!  What do you like about nature?

My New Favorite Tool!!!

I rarely publicly endorse one product over another, espacially within my hobby - papercrafting!  BUT,  I just got back from CKC-Charlotte (Creating Keepsakes Convention), where I purchased my new favorite tool - the Prima Comfort Craft Distressing Tool by Ingvild Bolme!  It does every kind of physical distressing you can think of!!!  Here's a pic:

Click here to visit Invilde's blog!

It distresses with a fine and rougher result, it gently distresses photos without putting holes in your photos, it scrapes, and it folds - all in comfort!
