New Day

"New Day" Layout
Moving Along With The Times
Challenge #109: Brand Spanking New

This layout pays tribute to my mother-in-law, whom we affectionately call, "Nana Margaret." These photos were taken at Thanksgiving, and we had received the news that she had a clean bill of health after her second bout with cancer, chemotherapy, and radiation. We were so, so thankful!

Close To You

Stamp Something: Challenge Something Embellished "Close To You" Layout

Fancy Pants Beach Bum collection combined with Close To My Heart cardstock and brads, along with American Crafts thickers!

I used large Zots to attach my large buttons, the Xyron 150 Create A Sticker to attach the striped ribbon, and Recollections foam circles to elevate several pieces on the layout.

I am getting more and more comfortable with my own handwriting, and decided to use it on this layout.

busy bee

Let's Scrap Challenge 105: Ribbon and Sketch # 2-2-11 (right side flipped)

"busy bee" layout

I created this layout using products from these companies: American Crafts, Close To My Heart, Momenta atd, Recollections, Making Memories, and Cricut cart "Walk in My Garden." I really enjoyed the challenge of incorporating the black ribbon strip underneath the photos and the short yellow ribbon strip behind the title!

Back to You

I created this layout with a song title for the Scrapping Everyday Miracles July #4 Challenge.
Choosing just one song that reminded me of the blessings and miracles in my life was not an easy task, as my other love is music/singing. I settled on this song by Mercy Me, as it not only reminds me that I'm not giving up when life gets tiring, but also that my God is not giving up on me.
I created this layout with AC Metallic Cardstock in silver, CTMH cardstock in black and white, Reflections cardstock in silver, and patterned papers by DCWV and Luxe. I used Cricut carts: Walk in My Garden and Doodletype, along with glitter ribbon in black from Michaels. The black fabric, buttons, and thread are from my stash. Doodletype title letters cut at 3/4 inch.
Faux-stitching with white gel pen.
I added some messy and torn strips of black fabric gto offset the straight lines and geometry of this layout, and to represent me as an imperfect work of the Creator.

Summer Rewards

My Craft Spot: Monday Challenge #16 - Ink it Up!
I had such a fun time with all of the circles in this layout! I love geometrical shapes, and order, so this layout is one of my faves! I hope you like it, too!

I am posting something very rare, something very rare indeed! What you ask? A layout focused on photos of me! These were taken in 2010 after a new haircut and color while on vacation in Melbourne, Florida. I was very pleased with the work she did, and the color and highlights she chose, so, I decided to take a few photos! ______ I used a technique to age these photos a little, that I learned from one of the design team members at Inspired To Scrap. Von challenged us to change the appearance of a photo with inks, so I chose these poorly taken/exposed pics to distress and ink! For supplies, I used my industrial sanding block from the hardware store, a quarter of a craft sponge from Close To My Heart, and Tom Holtz Ranger Distressing Inks!
These are the original photos, already cropped.

Edge distressed with sanding block.

Ink layer #1, Old Paper
Ink layer #2, Tea Dye
Ink layer #3, Vintage Photo
I hope you like the end result!

H2O is Joy!

I am so happy to be posting my latest layout! Having the follower contest as my only main post in almost a month was tough, but I wanted to make it easy to find! :) This layout showcases one of my very favorite photos of my youngest son, Ezra! I could scrap this photo over and over in mayn different ways! Do you have a photo like that? (This could be my idea for my first challenge......hhmmm.) So here it is:

I used Me and My Big Ideas Sunny Days patterned paper, American Crafts Heat Wave patterned paper (polka dots), Momenta atd Vibrant solid embossed cardstock (pink), Best Occasions Shiny Paper (turquoise), Bazzill Basics Cardstock Bank Roll, Peachy Keen Stamp You are My Sunshine, Close To My Heart ink Orange, American Crats thickers Heart, Recollections glitter and foam dots, Zots, Martha Stewart Glitter Glue, and buttons/brads/ribbon/thread from my stash! Hope you like it! Please leave a comment!

Ok, I have to give a shout out to Close To My Heart for their ink pads! I used Orange to stamp this cute little sun, and I have had this original ink pad since 2007, and I have never had to open my re-inker! You can visit their site here! www.closetomyheart.com

This is the first time I have scissor-distressed Bazzill cardstock, which doesn't have the white core I am used to, but I was pleased with the subtle lightening effect! And, being that I have 4 boys and only 1 daughter-in-law, I took advantage of the pink in this background paper, and put pink in as much of this layout as visually pleasing! :) (:

I have really enjoyed the collection of glitter I purchased with a coupon (Recollections)! And this is the first time I have used my new Peachy Keen Stamps! I do love those sweet little smiles, and the image was very crisp when I stamped it! I'll be purchasing more of these! You can visit their site: www.peachykeenstamps.com

I typed the journaling on my desktop, trying my best to match the turquoise in the papers with my font. And I was able to use my trusty Singer sewing machine to stitch a double frame around it in white for some focus, but hopefully without overpowering it. White brads, I added for the same reason. I hope you like my style, and I love comments!
