My First Cricut Project: Plantin Schoolbook letters

I must confess, I have been scrapbooking for about 8 years, but this is the FIRST time I h ave had my hands on a Cricut! I know it is hard to believe! I have been a fan of die-cut cardstock letters, stamped titles and joutnaling, computer-produced titles, and frankly, stickers. I have wanted a Cricut Personal cutting machine for 2 Christmas mornings, and this year, 2010, I got one! I guess I was just waiting until I knew a little more about them, and have been thrilled with my Cricut Expression being able to accomodate 12 x 12 paper, which I have in abundance! LOL! I would love your thoughts on the Cricuts: any problems, tips on making the blade last, how long a mat will remain sticky, how you have used your scrap paper pieces smaller than 6 x 6, etc.......

  1. Congrats! I love my Cricut. I use my worn out mats for inking mats. I have also used them to make patterns for quilting squares. The fabric sticks just enough to help cut them perfectly.

  2. Scrapality, thank you so much for a great idea! I love to reuse and repurpose scrapbooking supplies that might normally be thrown away! If you think of anything else, please share!
